Beverly Hills

Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills has got to be one of the coolest spots in LA. Posh architecture, paved sidewalks, palm trees along almost every road, perfectly maintained landscapes, and the beach just a short drive away -- what more could you ask for?

We spent two hours walking along the streets of Beverly Hills and taking photos, then proceeded to some shopping centers in the area to take a snack and do some quick shopping. We also had a good look at one section of the two-mile long Santa Monica Beach, sadly the Pier was still too far out to be seen.

Road trip to Arizona

Vegas is amazing at night, but there really isn't much to do during daytime. So to make the most out of our stay, on our second day we went on a road trip to the Grand Canyon and stopped by Hoover Dam and Sedona on the way.

It was scorching hot in Vegas so I wore a light and breezy top but regretted my decision later on because it got real chilly at the Grand Canyon!

How's everyone doing?

Just an update on my life: My time is currently divided between school work and blogging. Yes, you read that right: BLOGGING! As time goes on, I realize more and more that I really am passionate about blogging. I find myself excited every time I have new outfit shots to post and catch myself spending more and more time just thinking about it. I can see myself doing this for a long time, maybe for as long as I can. :)

Another thing that sparked my interest lately is makeup. I have never appreciated it before--I even told myself once that I'd never wear makeup. But one thing led to another, and I saw the wonders makeup can do, especially when done correctly. I'm not one who applies large amounts of makeup on myself: I'm more into using makeup to highlight features and add a natural glow. In some of my posts, I only used BB cream, face powder, and an eyebrow pencil. When I have extra time, I also apply eyeliner. I'm in a stage where I tend to experiment with makeup. Because of this, I now shop for less clothes and more cosmetics. I recently bought two BB creams and two lip creams. Another set of cosmetics is on its way (hihi). And I'm planning to buy more in the coming weeks. You can follow me on Twitter (@heyitsalyssayu) or Instagram (heyitsalyssayu) for  real time updates. Haha. :)

Enjoy the photos!

The Classic Button Down

The button down is such a classic piece! I'm sure you considered of buying one at one point in your life. But before buying one, just like any other piece of clothing, make sure that the fit is right for you. I've had enough ill-fitting ones and trust me, it does make a big difference. You just have to look hard enough for the perfect one for you! What I love about button downs is that you can wear it with anything you want: be it printed shorts, floral skirt, or denim jeans, you name it! Its versatility makes it a must have in every girl's closet. And if you're an avid reader of my blog, you know I'm a sucker for classic pieces!

Double Trouble

Went for a super simple outfit today, the shoulder cut out top which I also wore here, paired with white pants. We attended the mass, then went straight to Omakase in Ayala Triangle for dinner. Afterwards, we chilled out a bit in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. They have this really huge mirror which explains my reflection shots! :)

Plaid

This is what I wore in a college event a few weeks ago. Then, we came to party, party, party afterwards! Changed to shorts and flats before going home because although my shoes may seem comfortable, they're really not when worn the whole night.

Thanks to Phya and Fran for the photos!
