CBTL Giving Journal Launch

IMG_7794

I'm extremely organized when it comes to planning my day-to-day activities. Obsessed, even. For this reason, a planner really comes in handy for me! In fact, I've been using a planner for more than ten years! (I was one of the very first few people to use a planner back in high school but nobody seems to believe me whenever I say so lol.) I'm super picky when it comes to choosing a planner because it'll be my constant companion for an entire year. One of the things I look for is that it should have a lot of free space for me to write on. My planner doesn't just contain things to do and tasks to accomplish, but it also has lots of random things  movies watched, books read, things bought, and even what I wore for the day! And it's not on a whenever-I-feel-like-it basis, truth is, I've been documenting these for years! Obsessive-compulsive much? Haha.

I'm always game for something new so I was extra extra giddy and excited during the reveal of the pages of CBTL's Giving Journal at their launch party two weeks ago!

More photos after the break!

I was greeted by this adorable wire art when I entered 26th St. Bistro by The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at Net Lima Bldg where the launch took place. But more on this later!

One thing I didn't know about CBTL is that they've been in constant partnership with social organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Real Life Foundation ever since they opened their doors in the Philippines last 2008.

I just love how Walden Chu (not on photo), the CEO of CBTL, described the company's cause: "The concept is very simple  it's about reminding people that they can make a huge difference in their own and other people's lives by growing to become the best version of themselves  to realize that their lives are brimming with opportunities to share and then prompt them to give back."

This is one of the scholars (above) of Real Life Foundation who recently took the boards and is now an Engineer. He described how big an impact the LIFE scholarship was to him and his family. The short talk he gave was truly heartwarming and downright inspiring. Aside from the financial assistance, scholars were also given LIFE coaching, where mentors help equip scholars with the values and skills they will need to succeed in the real world.

The Giving Journal is available in four colors: orange, purple, green, and brown. Which one caught your eye?

How do you get your own 2015 Giving Journal? Easy, just complete all twelve stamps (with corresponding purchased drink assignments) at any The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf branch! Promo period is from October 25, 2014 to January 11, 2015. If I were you I'd start collecting stamps right now!

Remember the wire art activity I mentioned earlier?

It looked easy so I tried my hand at it. As you all know, I'm not the artsy fartsy kind so sadly, I found the activity extremely difficult. The results were terrible as well! Haha. Good thing our friends from Craft MNL, who were there to assist us with the wire art, helped me out.

Here are some of the good ones: (Decided against posting mine! Too embarassing lol!)
