Comeback

Hi everyone! Missed me? I'm happy to announce that I'm back to blogging after a three-week long hiatus! I was extra extra busy the past few weeks that blogging was impossible for me. So what was I up to these past three weeks?

On the first week of July, I flew to Singapore and celebrated my birthday there. It was nothing big - just a simple dinner with my parents at Marina Bay Sands (which I'll be posting about soon!). Upon arriving in Manila, I had to pack my things again for a week-long visit to Legazpi, Albay. It's the city where I grew up in and finished high school.

Midway through my vacation, a typhoon suddenly made an appearance and all hell broke loose. Trees were uprooted, electric posts fell and blocked roads, and thousands of houses were damaged. It was a sad day for everyone. It was a good thing that we were all warned in advance, that definitely helped us prepare for the calamity.

Here's an ootd to signify my comeback in the fashion blogging world. Hope you like it! More photos after the break.

The Mind Museum Second Anniversary Celebration

IMG_5633

I enjoy going to museums, especially science or history museums. Number one on my wish list is to visit the the Museum of Natural History, mainly because I saw it on the movie, Night at the Museum (lol), and found out that they had real T-Rex bones on display. Well, since I was a kid, I've always been interested in dinosaurs (I even considered being an paleontologist when I grew up). Until now, my fascination with them hasn't wavered and soon found myself getting excited when I heard the news about The Mind Museum opening in Fort Bonifacio. A complete set of T-Rex bones would be on display, and even if it was just a replica of the real thing, my heart skipped a beat when I heard about this! I can't believe it has been two years since it opened its doors to the public.

Trend To Try: Fitted Crop Tops and Bustiers

Ever since I saw this particular kind of crop top at store boutiques, I've been wanting to buy one for myself. It was a bit too revealing for me at first but as time passed, I mustered up the courage to find the perfect one and try it out. I prefer wearing mine with a high waisted knee length bodycon skirt, or with high waisted pants, showing just the right amount of skin. I think you might want to steer clear of very short shorts or skirts when wearing this kind of top to avoid looking skimpy, unless you're going to the beach or to a party where everyone's wearing the same lol.

The reason for this post is to give you ideas on how to mix and match that crop top or bustier that's been hiding in your closet for several weeks. It's about time to gather your courage and wear it outside! If you already have one and have been wearing it to various occasions, I hope I gave you even more outfit possibilities. And if you're that person who never had one, this is the perfect time to buy!

Naturally

IMG_6723

Most days I'm too lazy to dress up. You would find me at home still unprepared until the last minute. This day was one of them. Originally, I had a mint sweater on with this pair of pants but I wasn't satisfied and later decided to wear another top instead. I was about to be picked up from home and I still had nothing to wear. Thankfully, I found this sequined top buried deep inside my closet (which is why it came out a bit wrinkled) and it saved the day!

I knew I was going to walk the whole time so comfort was my utmost priority. I got this pair of shoes from Cotton On and I never regretted buying it! I'm not sure if I told you about this already but I find it difficult to find a pair of shoes that won't give me blisters. Aside from comfort, they are the perfect add on to a great outfit. The good news is that they're still available at Cotton On stores and there are a lot of colors to choose from!

Floral Pants

IMG_8881_2 copy

Last year, I was desperately looking for a pair of floral pants to add to my closet. Months passed and I still haven't found the perfect one. I've been looking for so long that I just forgot about it, until last Christmas, when my relatives surprised me with a pair of floral pants for a gift. I was literally jumping for joy and made it a point to wear it as soon as I could. Coincidentally, I was also looking for something to go with this top from Mango. I bought it last December and haven't worn it since. What do you think of the outfit? :)

Floral Button Down

IMG_8288

If you're following me on Twitter or Instagram, I'm sure you may have read that I went to Cebu on the last week of December and stayed until the New Year. The clothes that I brought consisted mostly of shorts, loose tops and long dresses, thinking that the weather there would be hot and sunny, and luckily, I was right! I was missing the hot weather back then because before going to Cebu, I was staying in Legazpi, my hometown, where it was raining like crazy for days.

I don't know what's with Cebu that makes the place relaxing and exciting at the same time. It's like a more peaceful version of Manila without the insane traffic and the crowds of people. Cebu left a special place in my heart (sentimental much? haha) and I'm planning on going back there soon.

Back to my outfit, this is what I usually wear when I go shopping- just a simple top and shorts. I'll be doing a separate post on the type of clothes I wear when shopping. I'll be providing tips and ideas which can make shopping easier by carefully selecting the clothes you wear for the day.

P.S. Did you notice my new hair? This was the first time to have my hair dyed and seeing it in a different color still freaks me out sometimes. Do you think it suits me? :)
