Pastels

How was your long weekend everyone?

Our internet connection just got up and working this afternoon so I wasn't able to post anything here during the weekend. It's so great to be able to blog again! Now on to my outfit, I've been meaning to wear pastels for the longest time and ta-daa, here it is! The top and the shorts are practically the only pastel pieces I have in my closet. To focus the attention on the colors, I kept the accessories at a minimum, just a pearl detachable collar and pearl earrings.

Spent the afternoon in Greenbelt with friends, had lunch at Bulgogi Brothers, watched The Amazing Spiderman and stayed at Spicy Fingers afterwards. I'm not into Korean cuisine but I'm happily satisfied with the food served in Bulgogi Brothers, even came back there around a week ago! If you liked my page on Facebook or if you're a Twitter/Instagram follower, you'll probably remember my post on the Korean fish ice cream? That was in Bulgogi Brothers!

If you're wondering who took the photos for this post it might be me, Adson, Phya, Ryan, Fran or the waiters in the restaurants. I just can't tell which took which. Haha.

Neutrals

Here I am with one of my favorite outfits! I wore this to the I'm Shoe in Love Bazaar in NBC Tent last month. I wasn't planning on buying anything but at the end of the day, I was able to buy a pair black flats from Suelas. I was on the lookout for a comfortable pair of black flats for a long time now, because a lot of pairs give my feet blisters. So anyway, everybody was panic buying there in the bazaar, and tons of people were in the Suelas booth. So I tried on a pair of flats and thought that it's one of the most comfortable pairs ever so I bought it. Later that afternoon, I wore it outside and realized that the shoes was too big for me. :( I still wear it anyway. Haha.

Thanks to Ryan for the pictures! Hope you're always this awesome. Hihi. :)

Pray for the Philippines

Hi guys! Hope you're all safe from last week's calamity. I think we've finally learned from Ondoy, Reming, and all other typhoons that ravaged our country. Rescue and relief operations became more systematic and it looked like more people decided to get involved. I am happy and proud at the same time for all the Filipinos who helped in rescuing those who were in need and helping with relief operations. I'm sure everyone can see by now how we in the Philippines help each other. From what I've seen, it is clear that we can achieve great things if we stand by each other. I think this is a perfect example of how we practice the traditional 'bayanihan' in present times. (To those who don't know, bayanihan was an old practice in the Philippines where people in the community help a family carry their house to a new location) Although the monsoon rains are finally over, let us continue to pray for those families who were deeply affected by the flood and are currently in the evacuation centers. Let's continue to help one another and show the world what we're capable of.

If you want to help through donations, you can visit the website of Philippine Red Cross at redcross.org.ph and for a list of evacuation centers and donation drop-offs, you can click here

Van Gogh is Bipolar

Last month, in celebration of my birthday, I asked my boyfriend to go with me to a restaurant we haven't tried before. I wanted it to be something new and out of the ordinary. Later on, we decided to eat at Van Gogh is Bipolar in Quezon City. We didn't know what to expect but positive reviews about this place are all over the internet.

We were greeted by Jetro, the owner and chef of the restaurant. And as you may have guessed, he has bipolar disorder. However, he sees it as more of a blessing than a curse. Because of this condition, he started creating dishes using ingredients that help improve one's mood. Initially created for himself, he started serving these dishes to others and that's how Van Gogh is Bipolar was born. What's even more interesting is that the menu changes once in a while so expect that you'll be eating a different dish on your next visit! If you want to know more about what kind of food is being served, visit the Facebook page of van Gogh is Bipolar here.
