IMG_6377

If you're into fashion, I'm sure you've heard that the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2014 was held on the last week of May (some of you might even have gone to the fashion shows). I was invited to attend the SM Woman VIP Cocktail Party where we had the chance to watch a preview of the collections that would be showcased on the runway.

Be Skinny Drink Me

Around this time two years ago, I signed up to be a member at a gym, and I've been working out regularly ever since. I'm not working out just for the sake of having toned muscles (though I admit it's a part of it), but more of being fit and healthy. I also noticed that I tend to veer away from eating unhealthy foods, like chips, sweets, and fatty foods. I don't really avoid them, but it's like I don't like eating them as much as I used to. I guess it's part of embracing a healthy lifestyle.

So one problem I have had since I started working out is the lack of protein in my diet. My diet consists mostly of carbs (and I'm not willing to give them up even if it means having to work out more lol). But as they say, every problem has a solution, and in this case, it comes in the form of protein drinks.

Yellow

2014 05 May0839

This particular day, at around 3pm, was the highlight of my Boracay trip. There was a sunset party at Station 1 so I, together with Ryan, met up with a couple of friends. We ate, talked, swam, and laughed. It was loads of fun! Later that afternoon, we bumped into more friends -- friends from school, friends from church, friends of friends, the list goes on! Almost everybody I know was in Boracay for that weekend. Too bad our flight was scheduled the next day, I would've loved to stay longer in that island! :)

May Day

2014 05 May0635

I happily spent the first day of May in the shores of Boracay with my closest friends, and it was such an unforgettable experience! This was my first out-of-town trip with college friends, and I loved every minute of it! How I wish the trip would've lasted longer! When we arrived, we were surprised by the horrendous amount of seaweed in the water (see photos). From what I remember, they weren't this many when I last went there.

The island is becoming more and more polluted as time goes by. Some people prefer going to Palawan these days because of the clearer waters and the more peaceful surroundings. Despite the pollution, the noise and all that, Boracay is still pretty amazing. I enjoyed walking on the fine, white sands and staring into the horizon. And when the sun sets, that's when all the craziness starts. The entire island goes into party mode!

Shoutout to Banana Peel for sending me slippers from their newest collections and for the exciting paraw ride!

Browhaus: Introducing the Brow Resurrection 2.4

IMG_6345

A few weeks ago, Browhaus invited me to witness the newest version of Brow Resurrection -- the version 2.4. For those who don't know, Brow Resurrection is a semi-permanent eyebrow treatment that will give you the brow shape you've always wanted (no more lining and shaping your brows in the morning!). This is recommended for those who have thin and shapeless brows (like me!), and also those who have thick and unruly brows.

The Glamourtini x Virginia Olsen Giveaway - CLOSED

jwfr

One of the best known brands of mineral makeup here in the Philippines, Virginia Olsen, sent me some eyeshadows from their 2014 summer collection and generously provided extra ones to be raffled away to my readers! Green eyeshadow may seem intimidating and unwearable at first but it's actually as versatile as the other colors. You can easily mix and match different shades to get the color you want. I'll be posting looks wearing these shades to give you an idea of what I'm talking about! :)

There will be five winners and each will get three eyeshadow pots namely Midnight Glam, Forest, and Spring (as shown in the photo above). The giveaway ends at 12 am on July 9, 2014, so you have enough time to send in your entries!

College Recognition & University Graduation

IMG_0592

I've been waiting so long for that moment when I would go up the stage to receive my diploma. But still, that day felt so surreal. Before I actually went up the stage, I was trying to run it through in my mind: go up a few steps, pause, take a bow--on the right spot, and not too low, walk a little--not too fast and not too slow, shake hands with school officials and receive the diploma--which hand should I use for what? Is my tassel in the right place? Is my medal facing the correct side? I was so nervous but when the moment came, everything went smoothly.

So to cap my college life, I would like to share some photos of me with my parents and my friends during the college recognition and graduation. (I was so happy on both days that a big smile was plastered on my face the whole time lol). I don't have a lot of photos with me, but I hope these would do. Thank you so much to everyone who became part of my journey! :)

Korea Day 3

IMG_0522

Okay, to tell you the truth, we weren't able to take any photos on our third day. These photos were from our 4th day in Korea, but to avoid confusion, I decided to name this Day 3. This is the last of my travel posts from Korea, and I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did taking them! :)

The hotel we stayed in, Hotel Lotte, is located at the heart of Seoul. On its basement is the subway station, and across the road is Myeongdong, the ultimate shopping haven. The Seoul subway system is so convenient and well connected that you can go anywhere in the city just by riding the subway! So on our 4th day, we decided to take the subway to go to the places we planned on visiting, and boy, was it fun! We didn't get lost because there were signs in every direction--very tourist-friendly indeed!

Korea Day 2

IMG_0228

On our second day, we took a ferry and spent the entire morning at Nami Island. Apparently they shot a very famous Korean show there! Well, no wonder: the whole island was a beautiful park teeming with cute animals and enchanting trees. I, being a lover of the great outdoors, relished every second in that island! (Seriously, I would really love to go camping in the mountains one of these days lol.)

We had grilled pork and chicken on the island (Korean food are just so delish!), then headed back to Seoul to do some shopping.

More tourist-y photos after the break!
