Beverly Hills

Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills has got to be one of the coolest spots in LA. Posh architecture, paved sidewalks, palm trees along almost every road, perfectly maintained landscapes, and the beach just a short drive away -- what more could you ask for?

We spent two hours walking along the streets of Beverly Hills and taking photos, then proceeded to some shopping centers in the area to take a snack and do some quick shopping. We also had a good look at one section of the two-mile long Santa Monica Beach, sadly the Pier was still too far out to be seen.

On the Go

IMG_1219

When I saw the hot, sunny day before me I knew I would be spending it outdoors. Hey, if you're stuck in a desk five days a week, I'm sure you'd love to spend the rest of your free time outside! Yes? No? Okay, maybe that's just me. I'm the type of person who's always on the go and loves adventure -- any adventure, for that matter. It may be as simple as riding a bike or following a hiking trail at Nuvali, but the feeling of it is just priceless! :)

Bensimon DIY Event

Bensimon 6

Who doesn't love DIYs?

The answer? Me. I've never done a successful DIY project in my life (does wrapping my notebook in printed paper count? lol) and as much as possible, I avoid anything that requires creativity. All my life I had wished I knew how to draw, paint, and do arts and crafts (I can't even cut straight using scissors, believe it or not).

When I received the invite to customize my own Bensimon shoes at Common Thread, Power Plant Mall, I got pretty excited. I've never designed my own shoes before! I didn't really think of what I was going to do with my sneaks though. I held on to the idea that the design would just come to me on the day itself.

The day of the event came. I was already sitting on one of the benches in front of a big wooden table, but absolutely nothing came to mind. Being surrounded by bloggers who were all doing well with their designs made me scared. I had no choice but to seek help from the creative people at Craft MNL, and fortunately, they gladly helped out. They suggested using bleach (which I've never used before except in the laboratory as sodium hypochlorite--chemistry class lol) and patiently taught me how to apply it on the fabric of the sneakers.

Making a Statement

These photos were taken a few months ago using my new lens. Do you like the photos better than my previous ones? I was a bit hesitant to post these at first because I'm not used to seeing myself in this getup. But my adventurous side took over and I decided to post them. It's always refreshing to see something different and out of the ordinary.

What do you think about my look? :)
