Happy

IMG_3719

I decided to go laid-back one work day, and came up with this outfit! Work has been extra fun so far. I'm really happy and thankful that I get to travel in my job even if I started just two months ago.

A Different Side of Me

IMG_3749

Whenever I browse the blogs of fashion bloggers, I always notice that they have such expressive faces and fierce poses that make their photos look like pages taken from fashion editorials. Almost all of the time though, they're not smiling. Apparently, it has been a trend for models in fashion magazines to always look serious (dramatic, alluring, fierce, etc) and let the outfit do the talking. I, for one, was influenced by this trend and tried to do the same thing, but then I realized that it's also great to show some emotion and smiles from time to time.

So instead of my usual serious poses, here are some photos of me smiling, messing around, and having fun!

Geek Chic

IMG_9379

For those of you who don't know me personally, you might be surprised to know that I actually wear glasses. I wear them to school everyday and wear contacts only when I go out on weekends. This is the first time I posted pictures of myself wearing glasses and believe me, it took quite a while to convince myself to post these photos. For a look far from my usual, I tried experimenting by using them to complement a laid back geek chic ensemble. What do you guys think? :)

What to Wear When Shopping

IMG_8425

Have you ever experienced being annoyed by what you're wearing while you're out shopping? You would tell yourself to wear something simpler and fuss-free the next time you go shopping for clothes. But every single time after that, you forget. I decided to make these tips so you can make a mental checklist on your mind before you leave the house. Hope you'll find them useful! :)

1. Wear tops with a big neckline so it'll be easier for you to slip in and out of clothes without ruining your hair and makeup.

2. Do not wear anything with sequins, delicate beadwork, or anything that may snag on the clothes you're trying on. I remember one time, I was trying on this lovely knit sweater and my watch suddenly got stuck when I was about to pull the sweater off.

3. Wear minimal accessories. A simple watch and bracelet will do. I don't advise wearing necklaces because I have to remove them every time I change clothes.

4. I prefer shorts or skirts when shopping because jeans and leggings are hard to get on and off especially tight-fitting ones.

5. Wear something simple. I read somewhere that if the clothes you're wearing when shopping are simple, you'll immediately notice if the clothes you're trying on fit you well.

6. Go for comfort in your choice of footwear. Use footwear that's easy to slip in and out of, such as flats. There were countless instances when I wore sandals with a lot of straps and buckles on it and I had to remove each one of them every time I tried something on. What I'm wearing in this outfit is a bit easier 'cause there's a zipper at the back. Avoid wearing heels because you'll probably get tired from walking. When you're tired, you'll end up buying something you don't really want, just to get it over with.

However, when you're checking for the length of a pair of jeans or dress, or when looking for something to go with your favorite pair of heels, it may be wise to wear them when shopping. If you don't prefer wearing heels when shopping, you can bring them with you instead.

There are no hard and fast rules on what to wear when shopping. Just remember that you have to be comfortable and confident with whatever you choose to wear. And don't forget to have fun!

The Show

I was supposed to post this after my entry on the fashion show which I became a part of last month (this post), but I forgot. Haha. Anyway, what I wore was a sheer animal print button down over a plain spaghetti top. I wore light pieces knowing that I would be on-the-go the whole day. I was wearing a necklace with this outfit but removed it when I was having my make up done and eventually forgot to put it back on before these shots were taken. Haha. Here is another off duty look which I also wore, this time, to a photo shoot.

Off duty

I was chosen as one of the models for this certain brand. I can't tell you which one yet! It's a surprise!  I figured that I should wear something comfortable and one that wouldn't ruin my hair or my makeup when I change to a plain black top, which we were required to wear. Anyway, it was such an experience and ultimate plus side was I got to meet lots of amazing friends!

Thank you so much to my architect-blogger friend, Maricar de Dios for the photos! :)

Rainy day friday

Hello guys! I've been featured in SM-Youth's Campus Style Fashion Radar! I remember it was a rainy day and I just got back from shopping in SM Mall of Asia. I got first dibs on all the fabulous sale items in Forever 21 just because I went there so early. Haha. There were lots of fabulous finds ranging from only P200-P450! I''ll show them to you in my future outfit shots. Hihi.

I paired this printed top with a bold colored skirt and minimal accessories for a classy vibe. You can also opt to do print on print by pairing a top like this with skirts/shorts/pants with a larger print. I want to see your style as well! Hope you can leave a comment here on how you pulled off the print on print trend. :)

The Hunger Games Sunday

Who owns the house? No idea. But thanks! Really nice background for our photos. Haha. :)

Attended an outreach activity in the morning and went to Newport Mall at Resorts World with Evan and Kirsten to watch The Hunger Games. Made sure my outfit was comfortable for me to last the whole day. The heels I was wearing were the first pair of heels I ever bought and probably the most comfortable. Before, I used to wear it with everything. It's a bit old now and there are a lot of scratches and the leather is kinda peeling off but I still wear it anyway. Haha.
