Black Out

IMG_1386

People often ask me where I work and what I do. Since I'm a pharmacy major, most assume that I'm working at a pharmaceutical company, but even before graduation I had already been thinking that pharmacy was not for me. I finally decided to go out of my comfort zone and venture into a field I knew nothing about. So when an opportunity presented itself, I took it without any hesitation. I entered the mysterious and unknown world (to me, anyway) of the power industry. Currently, I am one of two commercial trainees in our company and we're being rotated within the different groups under the commercial team. It has been a wonderful three months in my job, and I'm really loving every minute of it!

Hello from Baguio!

IMG_1276 copy

One of the reasons I love my job is that I get to travel! It was one of the few things I missed out on back in college, and I was absolutely overjoyed when I found out that my job includes traveling! Two weeks ago, we went to Baguio and stayed there for 4 days. We had breakfast at Cafe by the Ruins, a meeting at The Manor, dinner at Baguio Country Club, and even a late night snack at Choco-late de Batirol for our hot chocolate fix! I never expected work to be this fun, but I'm definitely not complaining!

Orange You Glad

IMG_1078

I love wearing jeans on a regular day. Aside from being extra comfortable, I can move around all day without any inhibitions! Contrary to popular belief, jeans don't always have to be boring. In this outfit, I spiced things up a bit by wearing statement sunglasses and a sling bag in a bright color.

Floral Fantasies

IMG_1976

My go-to outfit for lazy days consists of a long, breezy top, denim cut-offs, comfy shoes, and of course, sunglasses! Now that I've entered the corporate world and have a nine-to-six job, I always make sure I spend my weekends the best way possible. On some days, I like doing something physical like hiking, jogging, wake boarding, or exploring new places. But there are also days when I just want to relax--listen to music, take a stroll in the park, or read a book in a coffee shop.

Wildest Dreams

IMG_9095

The rainy season's almost coming to an end -- which means it's that time of the year again to start stocking up on crop tops, denim cut-offs, flowy skirts, breezy dresses, and statement sunglasses in preparation for summer! I can totally envision myself wearing this outfit to the beach! Oh summer please come faster!

B&W Series: Black Maxi Skirt

IMG_1191

Hi guys! Here's another ootd post where I'm wearing black and white. Quite a classy combination, don't you think?

Here's a useful tip: if you can't think of anything to wear, try to mix and match your blacks and whites. I'm sure you'll come up with a polished and put-together look without exerting too much effort!

Pocketful of Sunshine

IMG_1122

This was what I wore to the launch of the Roland Mouret for Banana Republic collection a few weeks back. This outfit screams so much positivity, don't you think? Exactly what I need right now because I'm down with the flu and I'm just not capable of doing anything (aside from sleeping lol). I guess I have to postpone attending my yoga class (sigh), and skip work today. Hope you're all doing better than I am!

Birthday Girl

IMG_1011

It came as a big surprise when my parents asked me if I wanted to spend my birthday in Singapore. Well, why not? We spent three days there, mostly just eating and shopping. Lol. If I remember correctly, this was my fourth visit to Singapore. I didn't actually expect that I'd still be amazed at how beautiful the place is. And everything's just so efficient and organized! I mean, in my entire stay, I didn't see any traffic in the streets. In fact, it's very fast and easy to travel from one place to another. And plants are everywhere, even in the busiest of streets!

I had a simple dinner with my parents on my birthday at Pizzeria Mozza in Marina Bay Sands (review coming soon!). Thinking that the weather in Singapore would be the same in Manila (back when it wasn't raining that much yet), I packed only thin and lightweight pieces. Wrong move! It was chillier there, and it rained everyday during our stay. It was lucky that the rain only lasted a few hours each time, so we were still able to go around the city.

Korea Day 2

IMG_0228

On our second day, we took a ferry and spent the entire morning at Nami Island. Apparently they shot a very famous Korean show there! Well, no wonder: the whole island was a beautiful park teeming with cute animals and enchanting trees. I, being a lover of the great outdoors, relished every second in that island! (Seriously, I would really love to go camping in the mountains one of these days lol.)

We had grilled pork and chicken on the island (Korean food are just so delish!), then headed back to Seoul to do some shopping.

More tourist-y photos after the break!

Technicolor

IMG_2425

Hey everyone! I haven't been posting lately because school has been eating up my free time! It's getting crazier and crazier by the day because it's my last semester in college. As the next chapter of my life starts to unfold, I find myself thinking more and more - about my future, my passions, and most especially how to achieve my dreams. During my journey I have gone through several problems and setbacks, and what I learned is this: Despite the obstacles that bar our way, we have to keep going. These obstacles are just life's simple challenges to prepare us for the real world. What's important is that we never lose sight of our goals. :)

The colorful outfit is to celebrate what's in store for me in the coming months! Wish me luck! :)

The Maxi Skirt

IMG_6606

This is the last set of photos from our Batangas trip. I've been trying to postpone writing this post for as long as I could because seeing the photos and words on print would confirm the fact that summer is over. And since I think I wasn't able to make the most out of it, this makes me feel all the worse. :( Anyway, let's get to the point now, shall we?

We arrived at Cintai Corito's Garden at around two in the afternoon and descended through a lot of steps before we reached our villas. Buko juice was served for each of us while we lounged around the whole afternoon. Before the sun was about to set, we just had to go around the place for some picture taking. Everything was just wonderful. The place was big and would probably take you more than an hour to cover everything. All the walking and climbing up and down the steps made us exhausted so while the staff were preparing our dinner, we rested for a bit and regained our energy. Honestly speaking, the food was horrible and not at all worth the price. It would be so much wiser to go out and have your meals somewhere else. The breakfast wasn't much better either. You see, I'm very easily pleased when it comes to food. I've rarely tried foods which I didn't like but this one really was below my standards. The place was good in all other aspects though. This resort would be ideal if you want to relax and unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Since there weren't a lot of activities offered, an overnight stay would be enough to enjoy this paradise.

To go with the relaxed vibe of the place, I went for a no-fuss outfit: a maxi skirt together with a plain top. To see my other posts about this trip including my outfits, click The Sun is Shining and Fringe All Over.

They Call it Preppy

It's not everyday that you'll see me in an outfit like this. It's just not me. I was a bit shocked actually that I came up with this outfit. The whole day, I was constantly reminding myself that it's okay and that there's nothing wrong with what I was wearing. But deep inside, I was cringing with disgust and at the same time, itching to get out of these clothes. Haha. This was clearly one of my attempts in becoming more experimental with fashion. I just noticed that I'm always gearing towards the classy, neutral, and prim and proper-ish look. What do you think? Did I do okay?

The Show

I was supposed to post this after my entry on the fashion show which I became a part of last month (this post), but I forgot. Haha. Anyway, what I wore was a sheer animal print button down over a plain spaghetti top. I wore light pieces knowing that I would be on-the-go the whole day. I was wearing a necklace with this outfit but removed it when I was having my make up done and eventually forgot to put it back on before these shots were taken. Haha. Here is another off duty look which I also wore, this time, to a photo shoot.

Playful Meets Edgy

Been planning this look ever since I got hold of this colorful crop top from Forever 21. It's such a steal, don't you think? Instead of pairing it with equally bright colors for a summery vibe, I decided to do the unconventional by combining it with the color black as can be seen in my bag, shoes and accessories.

Did you notice my new header? My blog is now officially called 'The Glamourtini'. I've had the domain name for quite some time now and I'm planning to change my layout as well. Do you like it?  :)

Thanks to Jonan Regalario for my lovely logo and header! :)

The Girl in Pink

I told you in one of my posts that I'm not usually a fan of pink, but right now I can't get enough of it! Next color to love: red! I've always found the color red unflattering. Last night, I was looking for something red to wear on a birthday celebration. And being the Chinese that I am, we are required (not really required, but more of highly recommended) to wear red on birthdays. I didn't find a single one on my wardrobe. Hmm, does red-orange count? Haha.

Chill Out

Hello guys!

It's been a while since my last post. It's because things are starting to get really busy in school. I can't afford to be lazy nowadays. Haha. Anyway, I feel so lucky I spotted this fabulous top in Mango during their end of season sale! What's amazing about this is you can sport a casual look by wearing it with shorts, or go for a more elegant look when paired with a nice skirt.  Notice my pearl black bangle on my lefts wrist? Bianca of Twinkies Inc. sent me this, together with the collar necklace I blogged about here (thanks Bianca!). It can transform your look from simple to classy! Do you agree? :) Click the button below to browse more photos.

Black and White

Imagine this scenario: you wake up in the morning, still groggy at first but when you have a good look at the time, you discover that you are running late. You run towards the shower, thinking of all the things you have to do before leaving the house while making sure you don't waste any more time. When you come out of the shower, you realize you have nothing to wear. Last night, instead of taking the time to plan your outfit for the next day which you usually do, you dozed off when you lay down your bed. You were never the shirt-and-jeans kind of girl so it is hard for you to leave the house not wearing your best. You exert effort in what you wear not because you want to look good but because you think it's the perfect way to express yourself.

BUT! As in every problem, there's a solution. In times like this, you can choose to wear something that you don't have to mix and match anymore, like dresses, rompers and jumpsuits. I suggest you invest in items like these, you know, just in case you don't have enough time or you're just not in the mood to choose which bottoms will look best with your top. All you have to do is accessorize and you're done!

Mood

I dressed up for no apparent occasion. I just felt the need to wear this blazer/jacket which I bought last year from Blogger's United 2 (check out my haul here and my outfit here). I think this will also look great when paired with shorts. What do you think? :)

By the way, I turned on the comment moderation on this blog because I've been receiving lots of spam comments lately. You just have to wait for my approval before your comment gets published, no biggie. :)

Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2012 Outfit

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Separated the photos for the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta because they're too many, I'm afraid it will take too long when loading a page. So here's the post on my outfit!

I made sure I'm wearing something comfortable for the day. I brought a scarf just in case it became chilly, giving enough warmth and coverage but occupying just an itsy bitsy space in my bag.  I anticipated that we'll be walking a lot so I wore combat boots! It was so dusty, I went there wearing black boots and came home in brownish vintage boots (you'll notice this if you look close enough), haha! It was a fun experience, partly because of the hot air balloons and the places we've been, but mostly because of my friends! :)

Kid At Heart- Universal Studios Singapore

Since I was a kid, my favorite part of going abroad is visiting amusement parks. I just love experiencing the thrill of being in those extremely scary rides. Oh, which reminds me, I have to go back there to ride the Battlestar Galactica, I hadn't had the chance to ride it. I won't ever get tired of going to these places! The bucket list of the adventure-seeking me include: ride roller coasters which hold world records, bungee jumping (Okay, I totally chickened out when I was in Macau tower, but I promised myself it won't happen again), sky diving, skiing, surfing (and windsurfing does not count!) to name a few.

P.S. Sorry, I wasn't able to update this blog regularly. School work is INSANE right now. :)
P.P.S. I will be removing the link of this blog to my Facebook profile because I see my Facebook profile as really personal and I don't like bugging people to check my blog just because it always appears on their news feed. For those of you who are really interested in reading my blog, typing my URL in the address bar won't hurt, right? Til next time! :)
