Summer Air

Summer is no doubt my favorite part of the year and although the heat is sometimes unbearable, I still enjoy every minute of it! Here I am wearing a flowy jumpsuit from Miss Selfridge on a hot, sunny day in Manila.

The Farm at San Benito: Pools!

Of course, a relaxing getaway wouldn't be complete without a refreshing swim! The Farm actually has quite a number of pools-- the South Pool, the infinity pool by the spa, and the man-made waterfalls. And don't forget the private heated pools if you book the Narra Villas!

The best part of our stay here was there weren't a lot of people. We rarely saw other guests-- it felt like we had the entire place all to ourselves!

Boracay 2016

My most relaxing trip to date (and probably my favourite) was my trip to Boracay with friends last June. Since all of us have been to Boracay countless times before, we didn't feel the need to explore the place and try the water activities. Every day, we had the same routine - get up at 10am, grab breakfast at the hotel, relax inside our hotel room for a few hours, get a late lunch, chill by the beach while having afternoon snacks and drinks, swim during sunset, and then grab an early dinner. I've never felt so relaxed in my life! I think I want to make this a yearly tradition. Who's with me? Lol.

Miss Selfridge Premium S/S 2016 Collection

Last April 22, one of my favourite clothing brands Miss Selfridge launched its Spring/Summer 2016 Premium Collection at Le Jardin Manila, Bonifacio Global City. We got a sneak peek on some pink, nude, and cream hues, and vintage style embellishments inspired by prohibition era flapper dresses and couture gowns. It features a mix of twenty-one pieces composed of fully embellished tops, floor-length gowns, and short, striking evening dresses.

Miss Selfridge's Premium Collection is available at Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Greenbelt 5, and Mega Fashion Hall.

Bright

Rainy season has started and the time for sweaters and jackets has begun! I actually despise the rainy season because of the overcast skies and constant rain (including the flood that almost always comes with it). How I wish it's always summer! I especially love staying outdoors -- or better yet, lounging on the beach all day! But that won't happen anytime soon, lol. On a brighter note, at least I get to wear the coats and jackets that have been sitting on my closet the entire summer, right? How about you, what do you like about the rainy season? :)

Because of the gloomy weather these past few days, I found it fitting to post this outfit -- one of my last few photos taken on a bright sunny day during summertime.

Wildest Dreams

The rainy season's almost coming to an end -- which means it's that time of the year again to start stocking up on crop tops, denim cut-offs, flowy skirts, breezy dresses, and statement sunglasses in preparation for summer! I can totally envision myself wearing this outfit to the beach! Oh summer please come faster!

Wonderful Crazy

This dress is probably one of the most overused pieces in my closet due to its versatility. It's perfect for lazy days when you're not in the mood to mix and match (like this one), as well as for days when you feel like dressing up. The dress already speaks for itself so I wouldn't want to turn the attention away from it by adding lots of details (a.k.a. accessories).

If I would style this another way, I would choose to wear it with nude pumps and fishtail braids for that neat, classy look.

Oh, you might notice that the dress has shoulder cut-outs. Really cute, in my opinion! :)

The Maxi Skirt

This is the last set of photos from our Batangas trip. I've been trying to postpone writing this post for as long as I could because seeing the photos and words on print would confirm the fact that summer is over. And since I think I wasn't able to make the most out of it, this makes me feel all the worse. :( Anyway, let's get to the point now, shall we?

We arrived at Cintai Corito's Garden at around two in the afternoon and descended through a lot of steps before we reached our villas. Buko juice was served for each of us while we lounged around the whole afternoon. Before the sun was about to set, we just had to go around the place for some picture taking. Everything was just wonderful. The place was big and would probably take you more than an hour to cover everything. All the walking and climbing up and down the steps made us exhausted so while the staff were preparing our dinner, we rested for a bit and regained our energy. Honestly speaking, the food was horrible and not at all worth the price. It would be so much wiser to go out and have your meals somewhere else. The breakfast wasn't much better either. You see, I'm very easily pleased when it comes to food. I've rarely tried foods which I didn't like but this one really was below my standards. The place was good in all other aspects though. This resort would be ideal if you want to relax and unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Since there weren't a lot of activities offered, an overnight stay would be enough to enjoy this paradise.

Fringe All Over

Here's an outfit that I wore before taking a morning swim at the resort. It was around half past six in the morning and nobody was in the pool except for me. Apparently, not a lot of members in our family are morning persons. The other night, most of them stayed up late to catch up with each other while swimming in the pool. Being the sleepyhead that I am, I went straight to bed after dinner (and yeah, missed all the fun).

You probably noticed that ugly bruise on my knee. It was raining hard one day and I couldn't afford to get my shoes wet because they weren't designed for rainy days. While I was walking on my tiptoes, I lost my balance and slipped. No surprises there, considering how big of a klutz I am. I landed on the concrete floor, and my knees got most of the impact. The bruise looked more horrible and so much bigger a week before. I'm still thankful though, it could have been much worse.

P.S. School's starting in a week! Who's excited? :)

The Sun is Shining

Despite my whole summer being preoccupied with internship, I still had the chance to enjoy the sun in a secluded resort in Batangas. The place is called Cintai Corito's Garden, a Balinese-inspired sanctuary located at Balete, Batangas, just an hour and a half from Manila. We stayed there for one night which gave us just enough time to see the whole place. I'll be showing you a few photos of the resort in a separate post.

I barely had time to pack my things for this trip so I just "guessed" which clothes would go together. A safe choice was a breezy top and shorts hence the look. I spotted these jelly sandals from Cotton On a week before and thought that it would be a great alternative for the usual flip flops during summer.

Daylight

Last week, I attended a food tasting event at Lights of Love Events Place located at Quezon City and went to Shangrila Plaza Mall soon after to attend the Marks and Spencer Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Show. The show featured lots of prints and vibrant colors in blue, green, and red. For menswear, swim shorts, lightweight jerseys and design tees were brought in unusual yet striking combinations of geranium, aqua, pink fizz, dark jade, and hyacinth. Collections for womenswear, on the other hand, included M&S Woman, Autograph, Classic, Per una, Indigo collection and Limited collection. Most were classic staples such as jeans, maxi dresses and knitwear in floral, tropical and tribal prints.

On to my outfit: this dress reminds me of summer because of the bright colors. I bought this at a bazaar last December and thought that this would be the perfect time to wear it. I was trying to pull off a polished look so I chose to wear less accessories and let my dress do all the talking. What do you think of my outfit? :)

One Summer Day

This would be a perfect outfit to wear to the beach, minus the wedges, of course. But the problem is my whole summer is preoccupied with internships. I'm having my hospital internship this month and soon I'll be staying in Antipolo (roughly a 2-hour ride from Manila) for my manufacturing internship this May. We are required to finish two hundred working hours for each area, and this will take up my entire summer. So you see, I don't have time to bask under the sun, swim and just do whatever other people are doing right now. It's so hot here in the city and everyday I can't help but think about the fun  my friends are having in various places around the world.

BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS... I'm finally graduating this October!!! I'm sure all my hardships and sacrifices would be worth it once I receive my diploma. And an additional "RPh" after my name wouldn't hurt either. :)

Mango Magnified

Mango is one of my favorite brands here in the Philippines. Every time a new collection is released, I make it a point to visit one of their stores to check out the new pieces they have. And don't get me started when it comes to their end of season sales!! So anyway, we arrived a bit early for the event but despite that, there were already a lot of people inside. Cocktails and wines were served, making sure that everyone's running on a full stomach. Here are the photos from their Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Show (click button below!) held at the Bonifacio High Street Central Amphiteater. Aside from Mango, they also presented collections from Mango Touch, their accessories line and H.E. by Mango, their menswear line. The event was hosted by the wonderful Julia Sniegowski. And I might add, we were seated right behind the Spanish ambassador, cool! Yes, I find this kind of stuff interesting, haha.

Goodies from Tous le Jours and Mango were given to the guests after the show. Thanks Mango for an amazing evening!

The Girl in Pink

I told you in one of my posts that I'm not usually a fan of pink, but right now I can't get enough of it! Next color to love: red! I've always found the color red unflattering. Last night, I was looking for something red to wear on a birthday celebration. And being the Chinese that I am, we are required (not really required, but more of highly recommended) to wear red on birthdays. I didn't find a single one on my wardrobe. Hmm, does red-orange count? Haha.

Coron Photo Diary: Part 1

Hi guys!

I had the chance to visit the amazing Coron, Palawan last May with my high school friends: Marianne, Cindylene, Charlotte and Mery Creme. It was my first time to go to Palawan but I heard a lot of people say that Palawan is great, maybe even better than Boracay because it is less commercialized. It was raining the whole time we were there which is why it's a bit dark in the photos. It's just a shame though, because everything would've looked a lot better with the sun and blue skies. We had the island hopping on our second day and everything looked amazing! I never thought that places like those exist in the Philippines. The Kayangan lake (photo above) is my favorite!  It was my first time to swim in a lake and I loved the experience! The temperature of the water was perfect and the view was incredible! We were also able to visit Twin peaks, CYC beach, Twin lagoon, and Maquinit hot spring. After the trip, I actually wanted to go back there again.

I didn't bring my DSLR because it's too heavy so I brought my Nikon point and shoot (Nikon Coolpix P300) instead.

Caramoan Day 2

Here are the photos from Day 2 of our Caramoan trip. I didn't have time to plan my outfits so I just packed some random tops, shorts and 'potential' coverups. When we arrived, I was panicking because I realized I don't have enough wearable clothes for the trip. In the end, I just mixed and matched the tops and bottoms I brought, and with my cousin, Anaissa letting me borrow some of her tops, I came up with enough clothes to last the whole duration of the trip. I Love Koi Fashion Show Favorites

I was able to attend a fashion show of the swimwear brand, I Love Koi, showcasing their latest collections. The fashion show took place at the Prive Luxury Club. The brand also collaborated with fashion bloggers: The Plump Pinay (Stacy and Danah), Patricia Prieto and Tricia Gosingtian to create designs based on their styles. Congrats to Jade and Lace for a successful fashion show!

Candy colored nails

Painted my nails with pastel colors a week ago. Don't you just love summer colors? It's kinda messy because I did this outdoors, it was really windy and my hair kept on sticking in the wrong places, also I didn't have nail polish remover with me. But I'm never really good in painting my nails in the first place. Haha. Always so messy when seen up close. 

Oh, if you're wondering, I used The Face Shop nail polish for both colors.
