Half Smile

_MG_8043 3r

Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe it's already 2015! Time really does fly fast!

I love the new year because it gives everyone a fresh start, a chance to begin with a blank slate. It's a time to be thankful for all the opportunities and blessings we've been given, and a time to celebrate the year to come. But before all that, the New Year also reminds me of my backlogs from last year! Lol.

Right now I'm sharing with you the result of a mini photo shoot I had with my family. We've never had a decent family photo, so we had our photos taken a few months ago. These are now hanging on the walls of our living room!

Tickle Me Pink

IMG_0388

Pink used to be my favorite color but now I avoid it as much as possible. I find it too girly, which is totally not my style. Very few shades of pink are acceptable for me (and hot pink is definitely not one of them!). I don't want anything that's too loud or too playful, which I guess reflects my personality.

This dress is one of the few pink pieces I have in my closet. I like the very pale pink, almost white color of the lace-ish detail but of course, not as much as my blacks and whites. What do you think of the dress?

When the Wind Blows

IMG_2693One of the things I've been meaning to tell you guys is that I dyed my hair. Yep, I did it myself! I was quite surprised at how it turned out, actually. Amidst all the craziness at school, I didn't know how I found the time to buy a box of hair dye and wait for an hour or so after application, when I was supposed to be studying for a major exam! Whew! I was pretty satisfied with the result though. It looks very natural (except outdoors where the color looks extremely vibrant, especially under the sun) and even looks like my original hair color at night. You can check out my previous posts to see how it faired under the different lighting conditions. :)

P.S. The hair dye I used was Etude House in Mocha Pink. Comment if you've also tried the product. :)

Black and White

Imagine this scenario: you wake up in the morning, still groggy at first but when you have a good look at the time, you discover that you are running late. You run towards the shower, thinking of all the things you have to do before leaving the house while making sure you don't waste any more time. When you come out of the shower, you realize you have nothing to wear. Last night, instead of taking the time to plan your outfit for the next day which you usually do, you dozed off when you lay down your bed. You were never the shirt-and-jeans kind of girl so it is hard for you to leave the house not wearing your best. You exert effort in what you wear not because you want to look good but because you think it's the perfect way to express yourself.

BUT! As in every problem, there's a solution. In times like this, you can choose to wear something that you don't have to mix and match anymore, like dresses, rompers and jumpsuits. I suggest you invest in items like these, you know, just in case you don't have enough time or you're just not in the mood to choose which bottoms will look best with your top. All you have to do is accessorize and you're done!

Double Trouble

Went for a super simple outfit today, the shoulder cut out top which I also wore here, paired with white pants. We attended the mass, then went straight to Omakase in Ayala Triangle for dinner. Afterwards, we chilled out a bit in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. They have this really huge mirror which explains my reflection shots! :)

Girls' Night Out

Had a fabulous night out with my girlfriends at Greenbelt! First time we were able to go out since summer break. I'm wearing my hair extensions from 1721 (tutorial on that next time!). Don't you just love it? It makes my hair look longer and wavy in an instant! I'm also really happy about my white Lacoste bag. I can wear it anywhere- whether I'm trying to work the sporty look or even to casual nights out like this one. The size of the bag fits my taste perfectly. Currently, I'm digging bigger ones like this because I like being able to bring lots of stuff whenever I go out. What about you, what kind of bags are you into right now?

Thanks Phya for the photos! (Btw, join her blog giveaway!)
