Crossed another country off my list -- Thailand! Although I didn't visit the country's capital which is Bangkok (I'm saving that for another time!), Phuket is just as exquisite with the crazy shopping, the insanely spicy food, and the pristine white-sand beaches.
We grabbed a quick meal at Doi Chaang Coffee which was near the airport. Because I was so excited to try authentic Thai food, I ordered Tom Yum Soup and Chicken Curry for breakfast! I specifically requested them to prepare non-spicy versions for me as I can't tolerate spicy food. In the end they were still spicy though lol.
We then checked in at the Holiday Inn Resort and settled into our room. Our room was quite spacious and even had this small, cozy couch with orange and green pillows. Adorable!
The best thing about our hotel is that it's conveniently situated right across the beach!
After settling in, we went to Jungceylon, a popular shopping mall in Phuket. It was just a short walk from our hotel.
Photo op with my mom. Noticed our color coordinated outfits? They were completely unplanned! Lol. :)
One of the must-dos in Thailand is to get a Thai massage (make sure to have it at a safe place though)! I like feeling the stretch and deep pressure so Thai massage was perfect for me. It even relieved me (almost instantly!) of my shoulder pains from the previous day's Crossfit session.
We had dinner at one of the restos along the street. We decided which restaurant to try based on the number of people eating inside. Haha.
And that's it for day one. Will be hitting the beach on day two! Stay tuned for my next post. :)
