Crop Top Diaries: Off-Shoulder
Hey! I just want to greet everyone a Merry Christmas! Wishing you and your family all the happiness, love, and joy this holiday season!
Because it's Christmas, I'm sharing with you one of my fave ootds! This top is definitely high up on my list! It's really easy to style and it looks super chic with whatever I pair it with! This time, I decided to use it with the obvious choice -- high waisted shorts!
P.S. I just love how these photos turned out! I was wearing very little makeup and I didn't get the right amount of sleep the night before, but everything turned out wonderfully!

Veloci Watch Collection Launch
A watch is definitely one of the things I can't live without. I get so panicky and anxious whenever I'm running late for my errands, so I make it a point to wear a watch every single day to accurately keep track of the time.
A new watch brand, Veloci, was introduced to us (actually, just to me, because the rest of them already knew about this brand) a few weeks ago at Highlands Prime Steakhouse. We had a sumptuous lunch of tomato salad, prime rib steak, and choco caramel cake. Afterwards, we were given a preview of their two new collections -- the Pulse and the Metro collections. Both were wonderfully designed, I must say! We then went to their kiosk to choose which watches to take home. Yay!

Kenneth Cole Watches Holiday Collection
Despite the number of errands and appointments I had that day, I managed to somehow make it to the launch of Kenneth Cole New York's Holiday 2014 timepiece collection. The event was at lunchtime at the Makati Shangrila Hotel (fortunately I was in the area!). Attire was corporate chic, so I wore this black, asymmetrical skirt and threw in this denim button down for a more laid back and relaxed vibe. Of course, this outfit wouldn't be complete without my trusty black heels from Michael Kors!

Sunnies Bday Bash
This was what I wore to the Sunnies Birthday Bash last month! It was the first anniversary of Sunnies Studios so they hosted a pool party at a house in Forbes Park. The entire place was soo Instagram-worthy! Case in point: a team from Instax was there snapping photos of the guests and giving them away as souvenirs! There were also yummy snacks (Krispy Kreme and Magnum heaven!), and even free-flowing drinks! The best part was that we got to take home whichever Sunnies we fancied!

Patterns and Paisley
I'm all about casual and laid-back outfits! In fact, I can't survive wearing heels for a long period of time, let alone an entire day. I only wear heels to parties or events (and very rarely to dinners), so it's very important that I have casual pieces to work with. This pair of Bensimon sneakers has been a favorite ever since I got them. I've worn them with shorts, skirts, jeans, even dresses! I think some of you even remember it from my previous posts! Lol.
What's one thing in your closet you love wearing over and over again?

Go Love Life
I am proud to say I've never been a bum ever since I graduated college: I didn't get to watch all those tv series I missed the past years, I didn't get to read all those books I've been meaning to read. For as long as I can remember, I've been living a life full of action. I'm always on the go, and every day I try to juggle work, blogging, and my personal life. Every day I'm up to something, my mind always in constant search of doing something productive. And you know what? I like it!

CBTL Giving Journal Launch
I'm extremely organized when it comes to planning my day-to-day activities. Obsessed, even. For this reason, a planner really comes in handy for me! In fact, I've been using a planner for more than ten years! (I was one of the very first few people to use a planner back in high school but nobody seems to believe me whenever I say so lol.) I'm super picky when it comes to choosing a planner because it'll be my constant companion for an entire year. One of the things I look for is that it should have a lot of free space for me to write on. My planner doesn't just contain things to do and tasks to accomplish, but it also has lots of random things – movies watched, books read, things bought, and even what I wore for the day! And it's not on a whenever-I-feel-like-it basis, truth is, I've been documenting these for years! Obsessive-compulsive much? Haha.
I'm always game for something new so I was extra extra giddy and excited during the reveal of the pages of CBTL's Giving Journal at their launch party two weeks ago!

Crop Top Diaries: Rocker Chic
I noticed I've been wearing a lot of crop tops lately, so I decided to make a new title/tag for my crop top outfits. I named it Crop Top Diaries! Basically, it works just like the B&W Series (see here). Now you guys will now have an easier time looking for posts. Who knows, it might even give you outfit ideas!
I don't really do all-out rocker chic looks but I think I managed some edgy vibe to this. What do you think? :)

H&M VIP Party
Okay, I'm pretty sure all of you have heard that H&M recently opened its first branch in the Philippines at SM Megamall. I've seen photos of the long lines of people waiting to get inside the store, and several even camped out the day before the opening.
Before all that craziness, H&M actually hosted a VIP shopping party two days before its opening day, and I was lucky to have been invited! We got first dibs on all styles and everything was at 20% off!

Uno de 50 Autumn/Winter Collection
I first learned about Uno de 50 when I saw a gigantic, floor-to-ceiling *gasp* poster while walking around the mall a few months ago. Imagine my surprise when I suddenly got an invite for a preview of their latest Autumn/Winter collection (which I'm going to share with you in a bit)!
But before anything else though, you're probably wondering why it's called Uno de 50. Believe me, it kept me wondering as well! Aiming to be known for its distinctive and unique style philosophy, the brand originally started out creating only fifty pieces of each design. Over time, the brand grew to the point that it couldn't keep up with the original idea, but the quality and exclusiveness of each piece still remained its top priority.

Style Weekend -- Woman @ Work Feature
Hi guys! I've waited so long to tell you this! I was featured on Manila Bulletin's Style Weekend magazine last October 10! I was super excited because this was my first ever magazine feature! Too bad I couldn't get a glossy copy huhu. Anyway, this two-page feature showed my outfits for an entire week, with a short caption for each -- what happened during the day, what look I was going for, etc.

Mint Kinda Day
This was one of those lazy days when I just didn't know what to wear. Since this was on a weekend, I wanted a laid-back, no fuss outfit -- one that was easy to move around in. I decided to go for the crop top + shorts combo, which is one of the type of outfits I love wearing. This mint top from H&M and high waisted shorts from Pull & Bear gave me the look I was going for!

I was one of the bloggers invited to the Century Tuna cooking class that was held at their test kitchen along Julia Vargas Street. I was never good in the kitchen so this was something new and exciting for me! Also a bit scary, because I didn't know what to expect -- I initially thought it was going to be a cooking contest. Thankfully, it wasn't lol.

Forever 21: First & Forever
Get this: Forever 21's branch in SM Megamall just got a hip new makeover! There is now a cleaner palette for the backdrop, neon signs demarcating each collection, and a wider selection of items. Plus, new items will now be added three times a week!
To celebrate its new look, Forever 21 prepared a mini fashion show and cocktail event for bloggers and press people. The program was hosted by it-girl Martine Cajucom (above). I was ecstatic when she told me she also had that same top I was wearing!

Haute Heads Salon: Before & After Photos
Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 2 judge and world-renowned hairstylist Lourd Ramos opened yet another salon, Haute Heads at the Mega Fashion Hall. In contrast to Lourd's Creations Salon which exudes a homey and relaxing vibe, Haute Heads exhibits a classy, polished, and modern look.
I was invited to the opening last September 18, but wasn't able to take pictures because there were too many people: celebrities, beauty queens, bloggers, and press people all graced the event. There was a fashion show that showcased different hairstyles, as well as a short program.
The bloggers were treated to a session of hair treatment. Before and after photos after the break.

B&W Series: Classic White Top
Hey guys! I noticed I've been wearing a lot of black and white lately, so I decided to create a series of posts to which I document my monochromatic outfits. I think it'll also be easier for you especially when you're looking for black and white outfit inspirations. After each post, there's a footer that contains information regarding the post, such as time posted, number of comments, and labels. Just click on the word 'b&w series', and all my posts with that label will appear on your screen. Yes, it's that simple!
Here, I wore my favorite white top from DKNY. If you look closely, you'll see that the upper part of the top, including the sleeves are made of leather. I just love subtle details like that!

Physiogel's Free in My Skin Movement
I'm lucky I don't need a lot of products to maintain a healthy skin. My skin type is normal, sometimes bordering either oily or dry, but it's very manageable either way. Other people though are not as lucky. Physiogel's new campaign -- the Free in My Skin Movement is all about empowering Filipinas to break free from dry, sensitive skin. It encourages women to confidently embrace life and achieve their dreams and aspirations. TV host and entrepreneur Patti Grandidge (who I saw just last week at Colgate's event) is the one leading the movement. Click here to watch the video!
I chose to wear my newly-purchased blue crop top from Forever 21. While digging through my closet, I happened to find a skirt in the exact same color! I threw over this white blazer from Mango to make the look more conservative. What do you think of the result?

Who's That Girl
A few months ago, I stumbled into this crop top at the crazy Forever 21 sale. Because I loved it so much (and because there was a Buy 1 Get 1 promo), I found myself buying two! It's actually very easy to look for bottoms that go with crop tops -- I'm sure you already have lots in your closet. They look great with pencil skirts (like the one I'm wearing), skater skirts, high-waisted shorts, and even jeans. When wearing crop tops, I usually prefer wearing high-waisted bottoms to show less skin. There are some exceptions though, like when I'm at the beach -- I wear low-waisted shorts to emphasize my (almost nonexistent) curves. Haha. How about you, what do you usually pair with crop tops?

Colgate's Dream Wedding Launch
I don't know why, but it seems like a lot of couples are getting married these days -- one of which is my cousin! I'm even part of the entourage for her wedding two months from now! I'm so excited!
Planning a wedding is indeed stressful and it's a guarantee that things won't go your way. Colgate Optic White promises one shade whiter teeth after just one week, giving brides-to-be one less thing to worry about on their wedding days. Aside from offering future brides the perfect white smile, Colgate will be giving one couple an opportunity to work with the industry's bests when it comes to wedding coverage: Jason Magbanua and Pat Dy. Click the button below to know how (only if you're reading this post from my homepage)!
Since I came from a meeting, I decided to wear pants for a more professional look. We were asked to come in a white ensemble, so I wore my favorite white top. What do you think of my outfit? :)

Banana Peel Family Fun Ville
I get excited whenever I get invited to events where I'm asked to bring my family. Just recently, Banana Peel invited me to their Family Fun Ville event at the Midtown Atrium of Robinsons Place Manila. There was definitely something in store for each member of the family! Food and beverages were given away. The event was open to the public from 12 noon onwards, with the time before that exclusive to bloggers and press people. Three tickets were given away for every P500 minimum purchase of Banana Peel and/or Banana Peel-licensed products.
I opted for something casual and comfortable, and for the shoes -- that meant wearing my new Bensimon sneakers (click here to read the story on how I got my Bensimon sneaks)!

I'm more than a month late, but better late than never right? Last July 29, I was invited to model for K-Palette's Magical Makeover event at R Space, Makati. Onstage, makeup artist Sayaka prettified my face using the new 1-day magic products (more info about the products after the break). Blackbird at the Nielson Tower
Blackbird is without a doubt, quickly making waves in the restaurant industry. Having just opened a few months ago, it's now on every foodie's wish list. Conveniently situated at the heart of Makati, the place looked stunning with its art deco interior, which, interestingly, was made to resemble a plane. Clad in Florals
Hi everyone! I'm back with another ootd post!
This is the type of outfit that comes to mind when I think of going strolling around the park. It's fun, flirty, and because of its bold colors, gives off a fairly positive vibe, don't you agree? Despite my appreciation for this dress, this piece of clothing had just been sitting in my closet. So what's the reason for my hesitation? Well, this dress has an unbelievably *gulp* low neckline. I had to raise it up every so often, especially while these photos were being taken. Haha. More photos after the break!

Tickle Me Pink
Pink used to be my favorite color but now I avoid it as much as possible. I find it too girly, which is totally not my style. Very few shades of pink are acceptable for me (and hot pink is definitely not one of them!). I don't want anything that's too loud or too playful, which I guess reflects my personality.
This dress is one of the few pink pieces I have in my closet. I like the very pale pink, almost white color of the lace-ish detail but of course, not as much as my blacks and whites. What do you think of the dress?

Just Do It
Going to the gym has become part of my lifestyle ever since I started out as a member at Fitness First, roughly 3 years ago. I work out 1-2 times a week, which, I know, isn't enough. But definitely much better than not working out at all, right? It's probably the reason why up to now, I still don't have the body I'm aiming for (VS body, anyone?).
When I realized that this was going to be a long-term thing and not just a phase, I started investing in workout clothes! I kept buying more and more, that one day, I was surprised to see that my gym clothes were starting to take over my closet! Case in point: I now have more gym pants than denim jeans! Haha.
I'm wearing all Nike here. Did any of you figure it out just by reading the title?

Bensimon DIY Event
Who doesn't love DIYs?
The answer? Me. I've never done a successful DIY project in my life (does wrapping my notebook in printed paper count? lol) and as much as possible, I avoid anything that requires creativity. All my life I had wished I knew how to draw, paint, and do arts and crafts (I can't even cut straight using scissors, believe it or not).
When I received the invite to customize my own Bensimon shoes at Common Thread, Power Plant Mall, I got pretty excited. I've never designed my own shoes before! I didn't really think of what I was going to do with my sneaks though. I held on to the idea that the design would just come to me on the day itself.
The day of the event came. I was already sitting on one of the benches in front of a big wooden table, but absolutely nothing came to mind. Being surrounded by bloggers who were all doing well with their designs made me scared. I had no choice but to seek help from the creative people at Craft MNL, and fortunately, they gladly helped out. They suggested using bleach (which I've never used before except in the laboratory as sodium hypochlorite--chemistry class lol) and patiently taught me how to apply it on the fabric of the sneakers.

Strip Manila's IPL ACE Review
I've been to Browhaus several times because it's my favorite when it comes to eyebrow threading but this was my first time availing the services of Strip. They certainly lived up to their standards -- the entire process was fast, hygienic, and pain-free (except for that one teeny tiny second, but I'll get to that later).
IPL ACE is the latest technology in hair removal, and apparently, at Strip, it comes with lightening and tightening. I was lucky to be offered to try the service on my underarms. Read more about my experience after the break.

Robinsons Red Hot Sale
Imagine my excitement when I was invited to get first dibs for the Robinsons Red Hot Sale! As someone who loves shopping during sale season, I was ecstatic! Some shops were slashing 70% off their prices, while others were offering buy 1 take 1 promos!
To give you a glimpse of what you'll find, I documented my day of searching for the best sale finds at Robinsons Galleria. Click the button below to see the photos.
The Robinsons Malls Red Hot Sale is a mall-wide sale that runs for the whole month of August. See poster for the complete list of participating malls.

Banila Co. Prime Primer BB Cream in Nude
From all the BB creams I've tried, I've finally found the one! Yes, the one! It's banila co.'s Prime Primer BB Cream in Nude. It looks sheer on the skin but subtly conceals your blemishes. It also has SPF 37 PA++, and because of its sun protection capabilities, I sometimes skip the sunblock (Uh oh, not good!).
This product can be used alone or as a makeup base before applying foundation. Either way, it works amazingly. It is also perfumed -- but only lightly. And because of its pump applicator, application is less messy and there will be no instances of excess product leaking from the tip when you press the tube container too hard.

Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Rosé
Look what came in the mail yesterday -- the new fragrance of Caroline Herrera for 2014, the 212 VIP Rosé, together with a bottle of nail polish!
Upon opening the perfume container, I was immediately entranced by the scent. It's the type of perfume that I would wear to special occasions. It has a mild scent, just the way I like it! You see, I'm allergic to strong smelling perfumes so I'm really picky when it comes to scents. Once, during an exam, I even asked to be transferred to another seat because my nose was becoming irritated by the perfume my seatmate was wearing. Lol.
The adorable packaging is definitely a big plus!

Pizzeria Mozza
Behold, one of the best (or maybe the best) Italian restaurant in the world - Mozza! It is the brainchild of chefs Nancy Silverton and Mario Batali, and restauranteur Joseph Bastianich. There are two restaurants under the Mozza group - Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza. Osteria Mozza is fine dining while Pizzeria Mozza offers casual dining.
The branch in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore had the Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza adjacent to each other. There was a common entrance for both establishments. You'll see Pizzeria Mozza if you turn right and Osteria Mozza if you turn left. That time, I didn't know there were two different restaurants so I randomly went to the right entrance and found myself in Pizzeria Mozza.
The place was buzzing with people when we arrived. There were no tables available so we were initially given seats at the bar. Luckily though, a group cancelled their reservation and we were given our own table!
The photo above is a pizza containing burrata, slow roasted tomato, and Sicilian oregano. The pizza was a bit sour because of the tomatoes but I think it was meant to be that way. I don't usually eat tomatoes--I even remove them from burgers and sandwiches--but their tomatoes tasted so differently that I ate them all! And let's not get started on the pizza crust! It starts off thick at the outer portion and becomes thinner as you go inwards.

Birthday Girl
It came as a big surprise when my parents asked me if I wanted to spend my birthday in Singapore. Well, why not? We spent three days there, mostly just eating and shopping. Lol. If I remember correctly, this was my fourth visit to Singapore. I didn't actually expect that I'd still be amazed at how beautiful the place is. And everything's just so efficient and organized! I mean, in my entire stay, I didn't see any traffic in the streets. In fact, it's very fast and easy to travel from one place to another. And plants are everywhere, even in the busiest of streets!
I had a simple dinner with my parents on my birthday at Pizzeria Mozza in Marina Bay Sands (review coming soon!). Thinking that the weather in Singapore would be the same in Manila (back when it wasn't raining that much yet), I packed only thin and lightweight pieces. Wrong move! It was chillier there, and it rained everyday during our stay. It was lucky that the rain only lasted a few hours each time, so we were still able to go around the city.

Bag O' Shrimps
Aside from fashion, another thing I like blogging about is food! I love trying out different restaurants, sampling their dishes, and posting my dining experiences online. Zomato, as if reading my mind, contacted me several months ago for a collaboration. I created a Zomato account and started writing restaurant reviews. In fact, I post there more often than I do here because I can't afford to bring my DSLR with me all the time. Based on experience, reading a blog post without any pictures is just plain boring, so I decided not to post those reviews here if I didn't have pictures to go with them.
The photo above shows the interiors of a quaint restaurant in Tuscany, McKinley Hill--just a few good meters from Venice Piazza--called Bag O' Shrimps. From its name, you can totally tell that their specialty is seafood, but with a twist! The seafoods are served in a bag and guests are encouraged to eat with their hands. Doesn't that sound exciting?

Copper
There's something about jumpsuits that catches my attention while shopping. For one, it looks super glam on its own, no need to mix and match: just add some accessories and finish off with a fab pair of heels. Definitely one of my top picks when I'm in a hurry to get ready! However, it was only recently that I realized I already had a floral jumpsuit in my closet (see this post) which I rarely got to wear. Oh well, one can never have too many lol.
P.S. Notice that my hair turns copper in yellow light? Under natural light, my hair looks like the one in the photo below. Which color do you prefer? :)

Lady on My Shirt
I'm a huge sucker for no-brainer outfits. Believe it or not, I'm very comfortable just wearing a simple top plus shorts or jeans.
Everyone can definitely pull off this look! If you feel that your top is too bulky that it hides your curves, show more skin by wearing shorts or a skirt, instead of pants. To add more oomph to your outfit, why not toss in a pair of heels? Wearing heels in the same color as your skin as well as those without ankle straps gives the illusion of longer, leaner legs.

Comeback
Hi everyone! Missed me? I'm happy to announce that I'm back to blogging after a three-week long hiatus! I was extra extra busy the past few weeks that blogging was impossible for me. So what was I up to these past three weeks?
On the first week of July, I flew to Singapore and celebrated my birthday there. It was nothing big - just a simple dinner with my parents at Marina Bay Sands (which I'll be posting about soon!). Upon arriving in Manila, I had to pack my things again for a week-long visit to Legazpi, Albay. It's the city where I grew up in and finished high school.
Midway through my vacation, a typhoon suddenly made an appearance and all hell broke loose. Trees were uprooted, electric posts fell and blocked roads, and thousands of houses were damaged. It was a sad day for everyone. It was a good thing that we were all warned in advance, that definitely helped us prepare for the calamity.
Here's an ootd to signify my comeback in the fashion blogging world. Hope you like it! More photos after the break.

Dorothy Perkins x Burton Launch at SM Fashion Hall
Dorothy Perkins celebrated its 10th anniversary in the Philippines by opening a store in the newly constructed SM Fashion Hall. It was actually a joint celebration, with Burton Menswear opening its first store in the Philippines. Both were brought in by RSSI (Robinsons Specialty Stores Inc.), the same group that brought Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Warehouse, and River Island to the country.
We were treated to a British themed tea party and a fashion show that featured pieces from the latest Spring-Summer 2014 collection. The event was hosted by TV host and DJ Aaron Atayde. Oh, and wait, I won GCs for answering a question correctly in their Twitter contest, yay!
In choosing my outfit for the day, I made sure that I would be comfortable (no heels!). Since the event was held in a huge mall, I anticipated that there would be a lot of walking, and I was right! We had to walk from the third floor, where the stores were located, to the ground floor for the fashion show, then back again. When the event was over, we did some shopping, and I met up with a couple of friends for a movie date. :)

SM Woman Fashion Show Holiday 2014
If you're into fashion, I'm sure you've heard that the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2014 was held on the last week of May (some of you might even have gone to the fashion shows). I was invited to attend the SM Woman VIP Cocktail Party where we had the chance to watch a preview of the collections that would be showcased on the runway.

Be Skinny Drink Me
Around this time two years ago, I signed up to be a member at a gym, and I've been working out regularly ever since. I'm not working out just for the sake of having toned muscles (though I admit it's a part of it), but more of being fit and healthy. I also noticed that I tend to veer away from eating unhealthy foods, like chips, sweets, and fatty foods. I don't really avoid them, but it's like I don't like eating them as much as I used to. I guess it's part of embracing a healthy lifestyle.
So one problem I have had since I started working out is the lack of protein in my diet. My diet consists mostly of carbs (and I'm not willing to give them up even if it means having to work out more lol). But as they say, every problem has a solution, and in this case, it comes in the form of protein drinks.

Yellow
This particular day, at around 3pm, was the highlight of my Boracay trip. There was a sunset party at Station 1 so I, together with Ryan, met up with a couple of friends. We ate, talked, swam, and laughed. It was loads of fun! Later that afternoon, we bumped into more friends -- friends from school, friends from church, friends of friends, the list goes on! Almost everybody I know was in Boracay for that weekend. Too bad our flight was scheduled the next day, I would've loved to stay longer in that island! :)
