Tickle Me Pink

IMG_0388

Pink used to be my favorite color but now I avoid it as much as possible. I find it too girly, which is totally not my style. Very few shades of pink are acceptable for me (and hot pink is definitely not one of them!). I don't want anything that's too loud or too playful, which I guess reflects my personality.

This dress is one of the few pink pieces I have in my closet. I like the very pale pink, almost white color of the lace-ish detail but of course, not as much as my blacks and whites. What do you think of the dress?

Just Do It

IMG_0495-Edit

Going to the gym has become part of my lifestyle ever since I started out as a member at Fitness First, roughly 3 years ago. I work out 1-2 times a week, which, I know, isn't enough. But definitely much better than not working out at all, right? It's probably the reason why up to now, I still don't have the body I'm aiming for (VS body, anyone?).

When I realized that this was going to be a long-term thing and not just a phase, I started investing in workout clothes! I kept buying more and more, that one day, I was surprised to see that my gym clothes were starting to take over my closet! Case in point: I now have more gym pants than denim jeans! Haha.

I'm wearing all Nike here. Did any of you figure it out just by reading the title?

Bensimon DIY Event

Bensimon 6

Who doesn't love DIYs?

The answer? Me. I've never done a successful DIY project in my life (does wrapping my notebook in printed paper count? lol) and as much as possible, I avoid anything that requires creativity. All my life I had wished I knew how to draw, paint, and do arts and crafts (I can't even cut straight using scissors, believe it or not).

When I received the invite to customize my own Bensimon shoes at Common Thread, Power Plant Mall, I got pretty excited. I've never designed my own shoes before! I didn't really think of what I was going to do with my sneaks though. I held on to the idea that the design would just come to me on the day itself.

The day of the event came. I was already sitting on one of the benches in front of a big wooden table, but absolutely nothing came to mind. Being surrounded by bloggers who were all doing well with their designs made me scared. I had no choice but to seek help from the creative people at Craft MNL, and fortunately, they gladly helped out. They suggested using bleach (which I've never used before except in the laboratory as sodium hypochlorite--chemistry class lol) and patiently taught me how to apply it on the fabric of the sneakers.

Strip Manila's IPL ACE Review

IMG_6915

I've been to Browhaus several times because it's my favorite when it comes to eyebrow threading but this was my first time availing the services of Strip. They certainly lived up to their standards -- the entire process was fast, hygienic, and pain-free (except for that one teeny tiny second, but I'll get to that later).

IPL ACE is the latest technology in hair removal, and apparently, at Strip, it comes with lightening and tightening. I was lucky to be offered to try the service on my underarms. Read more about my experience after the break.

To give you a glimpse of what you'll find, I documented my day of searching for the best sale finds at Robinsons Galleria. Click the button below to see the photos.

The Robinsons Malls Red Hot Sale is a mall-wide sale that runs for the whole month of August. See poster for the complete list of participating malls.

Banila Co. Prime Primer BB Cream in Nude

banila co's bb template

From all the BB creams I've tried, I've finally found the one! Yes, the one! It's banila co.'s Prime Primer BB Cream in Nude. It looks sheer on the skin but subtly conceals your blemishes. It also has SPF 37 PA++, and because of its sun protection capabilities, I sometimes skip the sunblock (Uh oh, not good!).

This product can be used alone or as a makeup base before applying foundation. Either way, it works amazingly. It is also perfumed -- but only lightly. And because of its pump applicator, application is less messy and there will be no instances of excess product leaking from the tip when you press the tube container too hard.

Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Rosé

IMG_6965

Look what came in the mail yesterday -- the new fragrance of Caroline Herrera for 2014, the 212 VIP Rosé, together with a bottle of nail polish!

Upon opening the perfume container, I was immediately entranced by the scent. It's the type of perfume that I would wear to special occasions. It has a mild scent, just the way I like it! You see, I'm allergic to strong smelling perfumes so I'm really picky when it comes to scents. Once, during an exam, I even asked to be transferred to another seat because my nose was becoming irritated by the perfume my seatmate was wearing. Lol.

The adorable packaging is definitely a big plus!

Pizzeria Mozza

IMG_0994

Behold, one of the best (or maybe the best) Italian restaurant in the world - Mozza! It is the brainchild of chefs Nancy Silverton and Mario Batali, and restauranteur Joseph Bastianich. There are two restaurants under the Mozza group - Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza. Osteria Mozza is fine dining while Pizzeria Mozza offers casual dining.

The branch in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore had the Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza adjacent to each other. There was a common entrance for both establishments. You'll see Pizzeria Mozza if you turn right and Osteria Mozza if you turn left. That time, I didn't know there were two different restaurants so I randomly went to the right entrance and found myself in Pizzeria Mozza.

The place was buzzing with people when we arrived. There were no tables available so we were initially given seats at the bar. Luckily though, a group cancelled their reservation and we were given our own table!

The photo above is a pizza containing burrata, slow roasted tomato, and Sicilian oregano. The pizza was a bit sour because of the tomatoes but I think it was meant to be that way. I don't usually eat tomatoes--I even remove them from burgers and sandwiches--but their tomatoes tasted so differently that I ate them all! And let's not get started on the pizza crust! It starts off thick at the outer portion and becomes thinner as you go inwards.

Read about my complete dining experience after the break.
