Review: Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0

Last December, I was invited by Asus to attend the launch of their Asus Zenfone 2 at New World Hotel. After lunch, the Asus team prepared a fun-filled afternoon at Intramuros for us to try the camera of the Zenfone 2.

Before the event, each of us bloggers were given an Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 (I received one in red). Other colors include black, and white for the ones with UV coating, and gray and gold for the hairline design. The smartphone has a simple yet elegant feel.

The Zenfone 2 has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, both having large f/2.0 apertures. Various modes include selfie panorama, real time beautification, HDR mode, low light mode, night mode, photo effects, GIF animation, time lapse. The camera is definitely so much better in terms of clarity and color precision than other smartphones belonging to the same price range.

I don't have any problems when browsing the net because the pages usually load fast. Apps open quickly, and games run smoothly. The Zenfone 2 has quite a processor (Qualcomm 64-bit Quad Core Processor Snapdragon 410)!

Battery life is also pretty good. My 3G/LTE is turned on all the time and I'm surprised it can last the whole day.

I had only one problem with my Asus Zenfone which I first encountered two weeks after I started using it. There are times that the phone can't seem to read my sim. My saved contacts don't open and the names of the senders of my messages refuse to load. I don't know exactly what's wrong but everything goes back to normal after a while.

This smartphone is loaded with lots of cool features, and with an SRP of only Php 7,695, you'll really get your money's worth.
